کیا کہیں حال
کیا ہوا دل کا
کون سمجھے
معاملہ دل کا
میرے ہاتھوں
میں جل بجھا سگریٹ
داغ ہاتھوں پہ
آگیا دل کا
مانتا ہی نہیں
کسی کی میں
یوں نہ مانے
کوئ کہا دل کا
اک زمانے کے
عجیب ہیں اس میں
دل نہیں ہے
مگر برا دل کا
اُس کی صورت
دکھا گیا مجھ کو
جب بھی روشن ہوا
دیا دل کا
لڑکھڑاہٹ ،
حجاب ، خاموشی
راز اُس پر
عجب کُھلا دل کا
جھوٹ کہتا ہے
جو بھی کہتا ہے
شاہ ملتا نہیں صِلہ دل کا

दिल को क्या हो गया?
दिल की बात कौन समझता है
मेरे हाथ में सिगरेट है
दिल के हाथों पर धब्बे
मैं किसी पर विश्वास नहीं करता
किसी की बातों पर विश्वास मत करो
इसमें अजीब समय होते हैं
दिल नहीं बल्कि बुरा दिल
उसका चेहरा मुझे दिखाया गया
जब भी दिल प्रबुद्ध होता है
हकलाहट, हिजाब, खामोशी
उनके खुले दिल का रहस्य अद्भुत है
जो कोई झूठ कहता है
राजा को हृदय का प्रतिफल नहीं मिलता

Who understands the matter of the heart
I have a cigarette in my hand
Stains on the hands of the heart
I don't believe in anyone
Don't believe anyone's words
There are strange times in it
Not a heart but a bad heart
His face was shown to me
Whenever the heart is enlightened
Stuttering, hijab, silence
The secret of his open heart is wonderful
Whoever tells a lie
The king does not get the reward of the heart

The trend of Pakistani shairo shayari has picked up speed over the past years. Keeping in mind the traditional pattern of poetry, many modern styles have been introduced. Poetry involves a thought process in which a poet expresses his/her character, experiences, recollections and emotions into words. The skill is seldom acquired but is mostly innate, inborn and instinctive.
